I'm originally from the UK, now living in Dubai with my husband and our two teenage daughters. Over the years, we've also called Kuwait, Paris, and Scotland home, each place shaping my perspective and deepening my understanding of people and life.
In my 40s, I identified with ADHD and suddenly, so many of my struggles made sense. ADHD has been part of my life since childhood, but I'm certain perimenopause brought it to the forefront.
When my estrogen levels began to drop, I could no longer keep things together the way I used to. Research shows this hormonal shift can intensify ADHD symptoms, and that was absolutely my experience.
For years, I'd been navigating life with low confidence, hidden social anxiety, and constant overwhelm. I worked hard to give my daughters the best start in life, but inside, I often felt like I was missing something. My need to delve into my passions left me with guilt and feelings of not being good enough as a mother.
My ADHD diagnosis was a turning point, it gave me understanding of myself I'd never had before, and many questions were finally answered.
I began working with neuro-affirming ADHD coaches, giving myself grace and forgiving my past.
This journey had to begin with myself, my mindset, my beliefs and the inner blocks I'd picked up from not being able to keep up like others.
Meditation has always been a cornerstone of my emotional regulation and mental clarity, helping me feel grounded and capable, now I understood why.
Over time, I grew my self-esteem, found emotional balance, and learned to take up space without fear.
I've gone from someone who would avoid the spotlight to someone who can stand in front of an audience with confidence... a change that still amazes me!
Now, I blend my professional training with my lived experience to help other women build executive functioning skills, find calm and confidence and develop unshakeable self-worth—so they can show up fully for the life they want and be regulated for their children, because our children need us to feel good first.
