In all honestly and quickly and simply there are so many things that happen to you when you make meditation a daily habit.
Personally for me things just seem to go right for me. Now I know that’s not a scientific or factual answer but it’s true for me to the point that when things start to go wonky aka out of alignment my husband will pick up on it and ask “are you meditating”?
At this point i’ll realise thappenshat life got in the way of my dedication… it ! Usually when my routine is interrupted by school holidays or going on holiday and once I get back into it, things even out for me or at least it feels that way.
Make a promise
In this blog post I am going to share with you some of the benefits you can expect with consistent daily meditation.
Connect emotionally
Why start a meditation practice?
I remember being a young mum, I had these two beautiful little girls and so many dreams. First and foremost I wanted financial security for them because for me that meant safety, it meant raising my girls in areas where they could thrive rather than being in survival mode.
I wanted so much… then I came across the book “The Secret”, this book and movie changed things for me because I began to open my awareness to the idea of manifesting but one of the things that became apparent to me was that each of the people in that movie had a meditation practice.
That was enough for me at the time, then over time, I realised it was much more that getting life to go your way.
People start a practice for many reasons such as illness & disease, stress & anxiety, as part of their spiritual practices, for focus and memory, the list goes on.
The benefits are so vast that really I see this practice as a kind of obligation to living your best life.

How to begin to meditate daily
1. Start small - Even 5 minutes a day will benefit you. It’s much better to have a daily practice of a few minutes than an hour long meditation session each weekend. Small but consistent effort will give greater benefits and you can increase over time.
2. Get comfortable - Choose a spot where you can be comfortable and undisturbed for the duration of your session. Over time you will be able to change this up and it won’t matter if your kids walk in mid session (happens to me all the time!) but in the beginning the same spot and no disturbances will give you the best chance of getting into the habit.
3. Talking of making it a habit… scheduling the time into your calendar or however you keep your important things to do will help. It has to be built into your day, in this article I talk about why habit stacking can help with this.
4. Make it so important it becomes a non-negotiable… to do this you need to have a why. Remember in the beginning it was the life I wanted for my children that was my why, I wanted to cultivate a life that was safe for them and now we happen to live in Dubai, one of the safest countries in the world. I don’t see this as a coincidence.

The Bottom Line
I said it before and I will say it again, if you are serious about making positive changes in your life for your health and vitality then meditation is key.
It’s the thing that can reduce or eliminate stress which of course is the root cause of a lot of disease. It is the thing that can help you with your emotional well-being and allow you to navigate the ebbs and flows of life with emotional stability and a positive attitude.
